Fire Glass is a granular media that is typically used as a decorative media to fill in and cover a fire put burner, or as a contemporary alternative to gas logs in a ventd fireplace that has been converted to gas. It cannot cover the burner ports on a Vent Free or Direct Vent fireplace unless indicated in the appliance manual. Typically the media covers the burner by up to 2″.
